ATLANTA, GEORGIA | MSBOSSLADII

INTERVIEW REALIFE

IT TAKES A HARD WORKING INDIVIDUAL TO START A BUSINESS, EXPAND SEVERAL TIMES, GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND STILL FIND TIME TO MENTOR AND HELP OTHER UP AND COMING ENTREPRENEURS ALONG THE WAY. SHE WOULD HAVE TO BE ABLE TO OUT GRIND AND OUT HUSTLE MOST. MSBOSSLADII IS A “BIG SIS” TO MANY AND ASK FOR NOTHING BUT YOUR CONTINUED EFFORT IN RETURN. VALIDATED RECENTLY SPOKE WITH MSBOSSLADII TO DISCUSS THE GROWTH OF GRUSTLE HARD ENTERTAINMENT, HER PASSION FOR HELPING THE LESS FORTUNATE AND WHAT WE CAN EXPECT IN 2020 AMONGST OTHER THINGS.

VALIDATED: Being from Charleston, SC, what’s your earliest memory of hip-hop culture?

MSBOSSLADII: My earliest memory is... Well it wasn’t really a hip hop culture in our household. I remember B.B. King sending limos to pick up my grandma, mom and aunts to take them to his concerts. But he’s Blues. I did try to rap and my sisters would laugh at me. My favorite artists were MC Lyte, LL Cool Jand Queen Latifa.

VALIDATED: You own several companies, the majority of them involve music in one way or another. What is your connection to music?

MSBOSSLADII: I brand artists, which is funny because I never thought I would be in the music industry.

VALIDATED: You have a passion for helping the less fortunate, how important is community give back to you?

MSBOSSLADII: Giving back to the community is very important to me. I’ve been homeless, I’ve slept in my car and I’ve went hungry so that my kids could eat. I know what it’s like to not have anything or anyone.

VALIDATED: What can you tell us about the non-profit organization NuBirth Transformation House?

MSBOSSLADII: NuBirth Transformation House is my 501(c)3 organization that I created to help homeless and needy families. I create and pass out goodie bags filled with personal hygiene products and snacks to the homeless. I want to soon be able to provide resources to assist families.

VALIDATED: Your initial company, Grustle Hard Entertainment, what motivated you to start it?

MSBOSSLADII: I met Petey Pablowhile he was promoting his 1st single and he told me that he thought I’d be good at doing radio. Then a friend of mine asked me to help him pass out his cds. After that I started Grustle Hard ENT. I met Pimp Con MySpace and he gave me some good pointers about being in the music industry and that’s what took me to the next level.

VALIDATED: Your entrepreneurial spirit, where would you say it comes from?

MSBOSSLADII: That grind came from my mother and grandmother. They were strong women that taught me the ropes. They were both creative geniuses and kept me doing things like modeling, being in parades, doing African Dancing, singing and my grandmother even had me in the Cub Scouts when I was younger. (Don’t even ask...)

VALIDATED: You’re editor and chief of “The Indie Artist Tribute Magazine” and “P.A.V.E. Magazine”, what do these publications focus on?

MSBOSSLADII: P.A.V.E. stands for “People Against Violence Everywhere”. That publication focuses on loss and how people deal with it. I created it as an outlet to assist others on dealing with a tragedy. The other is focused on the music industry and the come up of industry professionals. Giving newcomers advice on being in the industry. I’m working on, somehow combining the two.

VALIDATED: The “I Grustle Hard Music Conference” and “The Golden Ruby Video Awards”, what can you tell us about them?

MSBOSSLADII: Well, I’m not trying to do the music conference anymore but the Award show was named after my grandmother and mom to create a way to show people appreciation while they’re still living. I feel as if some people don’t get the recognition they need and deserve.

VALIDATED: On a personal note, you’ve been a mentor and “big sis” to me for almost a decade now, what is it that makes you want to see others succeed?

MSBOSSLADII: I love helping people and I know how hard it is being in this music industry. I understand that some people need a push and when I see a certain drive in someone I do what I can to keep that drive going in them. When I see a person accomplish their goal that’s when I’m the happiest. I love it.

VALIDATED: You’ve had continued success in expanding your brand and it’s footprint over the years, is there any business idea you tried that failed?

MSBOSSLADII: Everything is a failure if you give it up and don’t believe in it. Some things just take longer than others. If you’re consistent it’ll work no matter what it is. So, no.

VALIDATED: What can we expect from MsBossLadii for the remainder of 2019?

MSBOSSLADII: I’m chilling for the rest of 2019! But 2020 better watch out because I have the award show coming up and new events like the Video Showcase. It’s a showcase that showcases the artists videos and not just the music.

VALIDATED: What’s your social media contacts and website?

MSBOSSLADII: everything is @msbossladii and my website is www.grustlehard.com
